Nathalie Boileau

Composer & performer

Nathalie Boileau was born in 1966 in Montréal. In 1983, she enters the Vincent d’Indy Music School in Outremont, where she graduates in piano music. Later, she follows high studies in Techniques of Musical Writing at the University of Montreal. In 2001, she graduates in Cultural Management. Since 1990, Nathalie Boileau has supervised the music of several films (documentaries, shorts and feature films) such as “La vie avec mon père” by Sébastien Rose, “ Mission Banquise: Le Voyage immobile” by Emilio Maillé, “Suzor-Côté” by Serge Giguère, “Maëlstorm” by Denis Villeneuve, “La Sarrasine” by Paul Tana… Together with composer Pierre Desrochers, she signs numerous musical scores for movies: “Quebec-Montreal” by Ricardo Trogi, “ Un 32 août sur terre” by Denis Villeneuve: both are nominated for the Jutras for a Best Music. She composes the extra music for several films such as “La femme qui boit” by Bernard Emont, “La vie secrète des gens heureux” by Stéphane Lapointe, or “Les invasions barbares” by Denis Arcand. Recently, she has been in charge of orchestrating the music of two feature films: “American Haunting” by Courtney Solomon on a muscic by Justin Burnett and “The Little Polar Bear 2” by Thilo Rothkirch & Piet De Rycker, on a music by Hans Zimmer.

Philippe Braunstein

Producer

After a B.A. in Law , a Masters in English and a DESS in Business Communication, Philippe Braunstein first worked to coordinate the didactic sevices published on the Minitel by Havas Images Agency. At the same time, he founded, and then animated for ten years the Association Morgane to help amateur film makers make super8 movies and share movie experiences. There, he directed 11 films, 2 of them being long features ( in super 8 !). In 1992, this experience of an association led him to found The Avalon Films, a production and distribution company, which he has managed since. He has produced two long features, one of them being “The Sun Above the Clouds” by Eric Le Roch, and some sixty shorts. Along with this activity as a producer, he runs the company PLAN LARGE (long shot) whose aim is to produce and organize for companies and communities events centered around films. He is also the manager of A+H Multimedia, a company devoted to setting up multimedia exhibitions, to museography and 3D design. He also offers counselling in audio visual company management, and takes part in production training for various departments and schools.

Guido Votano

Director

Born in Rome in 1961, Guido Votano works as a journalist and a film maker. He is the author of several documentaries: “Dietro le Pagode d’oro” (1996), “Odio e speranza (1997), “La citadella di Barbera” (1998), “L’Erba Proibita” (2003) and “La notte di Totò” (2003), which was awarded the prize of Best Italian Documentary DOC 2003 at the Torino Festival.
Guido Votano has also made several documentaries for international agencies, such as the UN, which brought him to travel in eastern and central Africa, as well as south-east Asia and the Balkans. For many years, he was in charge of the Italian language on the non-stop news channel Euronews, based in Lyon, France.
He contributed to a great number of magazines or dailies such as L’Espresso, il Foglio, l’Europeo, Nigrizia, Panorama, Reporter, and he has also worked for the radio (RadioTre RAI, Radio 24, Radio Televisione Svizzera Italiana, Radio Radicale).
In 2005, Guido Votano made a documentary about blind children, Altri Occhi (other eyes).

Jean-Yves Roan

Actor

After studying at the Conservatory of Mulhouse, Jen-Yves Roan follows the lectures of R. Acquaviva, G. Gleize and Francis Huster in the independent classes of the School Florent, Paris. He starts his career as a comedian for theatre under the direction of Jean-Luc Moreau and then acts in several plays notably by J.L Revol, G. Bourdet and Sotha. In 2002, Daniel Prévost directs him in “Sodome et Virginie”. Jean-Yves Roan is also an actor for cinema and television. Faithful to Bertrand Tavernier, we can see him notably in “Capitaine Conan” (1995), “Laissez-passer” (2000) et “Holy Hola” (2003). More recently, Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache offered him a part in “Des jours heureux”…
