Beyond our wish to shed light on the relationship between two creators, the composer and the film maker, and that of choosing first films, the festival is showing this year an eclectic selection, emphasizing remarkable film making ways of various origins. We feature some ten works, showcasing the diversity of creation of young film makers. Thus, some movies are out-of-norm, “Johanna” and “Nuit Noire”. Others, more traditional, deal with themes fairly and sensitively, “Fragile”, and “The Audition”. With “The Passenger” and “Een Ander Zijn Geluk”, the spectator is introduced into a strange but controled universe. “The Woodsman” and “Nos amours de vieillesse” dare explore sensitive near-tabu topics with a deep humanity. We will find this same humanity in the warm loving look of an Iranian film maker in “Les poissons peuvent aussi être amoureux” ‘Fish too can be in love).
